Removal and Installation

  1. Hold the accelerator pedal in place and disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal and shaft.

  2. CAUTION: The air cleaner outlet tube must be securely sealed to prevent unmetered air from entering the engine.

  3. Disconnect the air cleaner outlet tube from the throttle body.
  4. Remove the accelerator control splash shield.
    1. Release the tab.
    2. Remove the splash shield.

  5. Disconnect the accelerator cable pushpin from the dash panel stud.

  6. Remove the bolts and pull the cable through the bulkhead.

  7. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle body lever.
    1. Rotate the throttle body lever forward.
    2. Disconnect the accelerator cable.

  8. Depress the locking tabs and remove the accelerator cable.

  9. Remove the accelerator cable from the vehicle.
  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
