Cooler Bypass Valve: Removal

  1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Jacking & Lifting .
  2. Remove the front cooler tube, from the front cooler bypass valve (CBV) fitting.

  3. Remove the rear cooler tube from the rear CBV fitting.

  4. NOTE: The rubber-coated sealing washers can fall off during removal of the front CBV bolt cooler line case fitting.

  5. Remove the front CBV bolt cooler case fitting.
  6. NOTE: The rubber-coated sealing washers can fall off during removal of the rear CBV bolt cooler line case fitting.

  7. Remove the rear CBV bolt cooler line case fitting.
  8. Remove, clean and flush the CBV. Refer to COOLER BYPASS VALVE ASSEMBLY .
