Visual Inspection

This inspection will identify modifications or additions to the vehicle operating system that may affect diagnosis and transmission operation.

Inspect vehicle for non-Ford approved add-on devices such as:

Electronic add-on items:
- air conditioning.
- generators (alternators).
- engine turbos.
- cellular telephones.
- cruise controls.
- turbo engine brake.
- CB radios.
- linear amplifiers.
- backup alarm signals.
- electronic brakes for trailer towing.
- computers.
Vehicle modifications.

These items, if not installed correctly, will affect powertrain control module or transmission function. Pay particular attention to add-on wiring splices in the powertrain control module (PCM) harness or transmission wiring harness, abnormal tire size or axle ratio changes.
