Removal and Installation

- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in ENGINE COOLING .
- Disconnect the engine vent and radiator vent hoses from the degas bottle.
- Remove the bolts and position the degas bottle aside.
- Remove the turbocharger intake tube bracket.
- Remove two bolts.
- Remove the two nuts.
- Remove the turbocharger intake tube bracket.
- Remove the fuel injector control module (FICM) bolts.
- Position out the FICM and disconnect the electrical connectors. Remove the FICM.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION:
Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls.
NOTE:
Early production shown, late production similar.
CAUTION:
Make sure both latches are released before removing the electrical connectors or engine damage can occur.
