Valve Cover - LH: Installation

- Apply a bead of silicone gasket and sealant in two places where the engine front cover meets the cylinder head.
- Position the valve cover and the valve cover gasket on the cylinder head and loosely install the bolts.
- Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
- Position the fuel charging wiring onto the valve cover studs.
- Connect the LH ignition coil electrical connectors and the LH fuel injector electrical connectors.
- Connect the crankcase ventilation tube to the valve cover.
- Install the engine bracket.
- Install the bracket on the studs.
- Install the retaining nuts. Tighten the retaining nuts securely.
- Install the engine air cleaner and engine air cleaner outlet tube. Refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
- Connect the battery ground cable.
NOTE:
If not secured within four minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned with metal surface prep and silicone gasket remover. Allow to dry until there is no sign of wetness, or four minutes, whichever is longer. Failure to follow this procedure can cause future oil leakage.
