Removal and Installation

  1. If equipped, remove the exhaust manifold to exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve tube. Refer to ENGINE EMISSION CONTROL .

  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  3. On 4x4 vehicles, remove the front wheel opening moulding. Refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
  4. Remove the front fender splash shield.
  5. Remove the nuts.

  6. Remove the nuts and the exhaust manifold.

  7. Remove the exhaust manifold gasket.

  8. Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold. Refer to ENGINE SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts in the sequence shown.
