Crankshaft Rear Seal with Retainer Plate: Removal

  1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN - AUTOMATED EQUIPMENT  or OIL PAN - MANUAL TRANSMISSION .
  2. Remove the flexplate. Refer to FLEXPLATE - AUTOMATED EQUIPMENT  or FLYWHEEL - MANUAL TRANSMISSION .
  3. Using the special tools, remove the crankshaft rear oil seal slinger.

  4. Using the special tools, remove the crankshaft rear seal.

  5. Remove the six bolts and the crankcase rear seal retainer.
