Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Carry out the Pressure Relief - Fuel Tube Venting procedure. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION-NATURAL GAS .
  3. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the fuel tank temperature sensor.

  5. NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to learn the strategy.
    NOTE: Install a new fuel tank temperature sensor O-ring seal.
    NOTE: Lubricate the fuel tank temperature sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil prior to installation.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
