Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Cooler: Installation

    ALL VEHICLES 

  1. Install the auxiliary transmission fluid cooler.
  2. Connect the fluid cooler hoses to the auxiliary transmission fluid cooler. Install the hose clamps
  3. VEHICLES WITH 4R100 TRANSMISSION 

  4. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  5. ALL VEHICLES 

  6. Install the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
  7. VEHICLES WITH 4R100 TRANSMISSION 

    CAUTION: Do not use any fluid approved for MERCON® V application. Using a fluid rated for MERCON® V may cause internal damage in MERCON® only applications.
  8. Fill the transmission with the specified type and quantity of clean transmission fluid. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION-4R100 .
  9. VEHICLES WITH 4R70W/4R75W TRANSMISSION 

  10. Fill the transmission with the specified type and quantity of clean transmission fluid. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - 4R70W/4R75 .
    • Use MERCON® V Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-5-QM or equivalent meeting MERCON® V specification.
  11. ALL VEHICLES 

  12. Check for leaks.
