Hub & Wheel Bearings: Installation

  1. Position steering knuckle on ball joint. Ensure axle shaft splines and wheel hub splines are aligned and engaged. Install NEW pinch bolts and nuts on ball joint and strut-to-steering knuckle. Tighten ball joint pinch bolt to specification. Tighten strut-to-steering knuckle pinch bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install anti-lock brake sensor. Install brake rotor and brake caliper. Install wheel hub retaining nut and tighten to specification. Attach tie rod end, and tighten nut to specification. Continue to tighten until slot in nut and hole in stud line up. Install NEW cotter pin. Install wheel assembly. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Lower vehicle.
