Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) Sensor & Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the rear transmission mount nuts.

  3. Position the high-lift transmission jack under the transmission.
  4. CAUTION: Be sure not to raise the back of the transmission too high, if it makes contact with the underbody, damage to the turbine shaft speed (TSS) and output shaft speed (OSS) sensors will occur.

  5. Remove the rear transmission mount.
    1. Raise the transmission up off the rear crossmember support.
    2. Remove the bolts.
    3. Remove the rear transmission mount.
  6. Lower the transmission to gain access to the TSS sensor and the OSS sensor.

  7. Remove the TSS sensor.
    1. Remove the bolt.
    2. Remove the TSS sensor.

  8. Remove the OSS sensor.
    1. Remove the bolt.
    2. Remove the OSS sensor.
