Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. CAUTION: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  4. NOTE: The CMP sensor is located behind the power steering pump.

  5. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
  6. Remove the bolt and the CMP sensor.

  7. NOTE: Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seal before installation.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
