Valve Cover - LH: Installation

    NOTE: If not secured within four minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned. To clean the sealing area, use silicone gasket remover and metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging. Failure to follow this procedure can cause future oil leakage.

  1. Apply a bead of silicone gasket and sealant in two places where the engine front cover meets the cylinder head.
  2. Position the valve cover and the valve cover gasket on the cylinder head and loosely install the bolts.

  3. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.

  4. Position the fuel charging wiring onto the valve cover studs.

  5. Position the LH fuel charge wiring harness and install the nuts.

  6. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

  7. Disconnect the ten ignition coil electrical connectors.

  8. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve tube from the LH valve cover and position aside.

  9. Install the engine air cleaner and engine air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  10. Install the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  11. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
