Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  3. Remove the nuts.

    4. NOTE: During installation tighten the exhaust manifold nuts in the sequence shown.

  4. Remove the 10 nuts, the exhaust manifold, and the exhaust manifold gasket.
    • Discard the exhaust manifold gasket.
  5. Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Install a new exhaust manifold gasket.
