Removal And Installation: Damper: Installation

    NOTE: When installing a new steering linkage bracket, make sure the bracket is properly positioned on the steering sector shaft arm drag link (3304) before tightening the U-bolt retaining nuts.
  1. Install the damper into the mounting brackets.
  2. Install the bolt and nut retaining the damper to the RH bracket.

  3. Install the nut retaining the damper to the steering linkage LH bracket.

  4. Rotate the steering wheel (3600) from stop to stop. Verify that the steering linkage damper is not bottoming out and that the steering linkage reaches its full travel when the steering wheel is turned from stop to stop.
