Inspection and Verification

  1. Verify the customer concern.
  2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
    VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

    Mechanical Electrical
    • Daytime running lamps (DRL) module
    • Parking brake switch
    • Central junction box (CJB) fuse 30 (5A)
    • Battery junction box (BJB) fuse 14 (10A)
    • DRL relay
    • Circuitry
  3. Make sure the autolamps and manual control of the headlamps operate correctly before proceeding to the next step.
  4. Make sure the parking brake warning indicator operates correctly (the parking brake warning indicator should be illuminated only when the parking brake is engaged). If the parking brake warning indicator does not operate correctly, refer to INFORMATION, GAUGES & WARNING DEVICES .
  5. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
  6. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom and GO to SYMPTOM CHART .
