Fuel Limit Vent Valve

The fuel limit vent valve functions very much like the fuel grade vent valve. Its spring-loaded float shuts the orifice off when the fluid level rises to a certain level or when the vehicle is tilted over to a certain angle. It also controls the amount of fuel that can be filled into the tank and is the main venting mechanism for the tank. The fuel limit vent valve is not serviceable by itself. On the 4.0L SOHC Early Build tank, it is installed new as part of the tank and on the 4.6L and 4.0L SOHC Late Build it is installed new as part of the fuel pump and sender assembly.
