Pinpoint Test K: Transmission Control Indicator Lamp (TCIL) Stays Illuminated

- K1 CYCLE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH (TCS)
- Key in ON position.
- Cycle the transmission control switch (TCS).
- Does the transmission control indicator lamp (TCIL) illuminate and then go off?
- Yes : OK at this time. Concern may be intermittent.
- No : GO to K2.
- K2 CHECK THE CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Key in ON position.
- Does the TCIL remain on?
- Yes : REPAIR circuit. RECONNECT all components. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : INSTALL a new PCM. TEST the system for normal operation.
