Removal and Installation

WARNING:
When performing maintenance on the starting system be aware that heavy gauge leads are connected directly to the battery. Make sure protective caps are in place when maintenance is completed.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
