Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT .
  2. NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any foreign material in the spark plug well before removing the spark plug.
  3. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. To remove individual parts, only carry out the listed steps.
    COMPONENT STEP

    Component Steps
    Spark plug wires 3-5
    Spark plug(s) 5,6
    Ignition coil 1, 2, 3, 7, 8
  4. CAUTION: Make sure the spark plug boots are positioned so the spark plug wires do not contact the exhaust manifold.

  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
