Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
Since the engine is not free-wheeling, timing procedures must be followed exactly or piston and valve damage can occur.
- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Remove the crankshaft front seal. For additional information, refer to CRANKSHAFT PULLEY AND CRANKSHAFT SEAL .
- Remove the roller followers. For additional information, refer to CAMSHAFT ROLLER FOLLOWER AND HYDRAULIC LASH ADJUSTER .
- Drain the engine oil.
- Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustrations and tables.
To remove individual parts, only carry out the listed steps:

- Fill the engine with clean engine oil.
- Fill and bleed the engine cooling system. For additional information refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Fill and bleed the power steering system. For additional information, refer to STEERING SYSTEM .
