Removal and Installation

- Remove the valve covers. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER LH and VALVE COVER RH .
- Remove the cooling fan. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the bolts and ignition coils.
- Remove the spark plugs.
- Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
To remove individual parts, only carry out the listed steps:

- Install the spark plugs.
- Tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
- Install the cooling fan. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Install the LH and RH ignition coils and electrical connectors.
- Install the valve covers. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER LH and VALVE COVER RH .
NOTE:
Remove any foreign material from the spark plug wells with compressed air before removing the spark plugs.
NOTE:
Apply dielectric compound to the inside of the coil boots.
