Items 3, 4 and 5: Valve Spring Retainer Keys, Valve Spring Retainers and Valve Springs Removal Note

  1. Position the piston of the cylinder being serviced at top dead center (TDC).
  2. Hold the valves in the cylinder head.
    • Remove the spark plug of the cylinder being serviced.
    • Use a suitable tool to apply air pressure to the cylinder.
  3. Using the special tool, remove the valve spring retainer keys, valve spring retainers and the valve springs.
