Item 15: Outer Tie-Rod Removal Note

    CAUTION: Do not damage the tie-rod boot while installing the special tool.

  1. Using the special tool, separate the tie-rod end from the wheel knuckle.
  2. Note the number of times the tie-rod ends turn for assembly reference.
  3. After removing the tie-rod end, remove the tie-rod end jam nut from the front wheel spindle tie-rod.
