Section 54 (Disc Brakes & Drum Brakes): Overhaul: Caliper: Reassembly

    NOTE: Ensure the seal is not twisted and is firmly seated in the caliper bore.
  1. Clean all brake caliper components. All parts must be air-dried completely. Coat all internal parts and the piston seal with High Performance DOT 3 Brake Fluid (C6AZ-19542-AB), or equivalent, meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A, DOT 3 before assembly.
  2. Install a new front disc brake caliper piston seal in the front disc brake caliper piston bore.
  3. Install a new dust seal on the front disc brake caliper piston.
  4. Install the front disc brake caliper piston in the front disc brake caliper piston bore.
  5. Use Driver Handle (T80T-4000-W) and Dust Seal Replacer (T92P-2588-AH) to seat the dust seal in the front disc brake caliper.
  6. Install the front disc brake caliper rubber insulators.
  7. Install the front disc brake caliper. Bleed as necessary. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  .
