Section 54 (Disc Brakes & Drum Brakes): Overhaul: Caliper: Reassembly

- Clean all brake caliper components. All parts must be air-dried completely. Coat all internal parts and the piston seal with High Performance DOT 3 Brake Fluid (C6AZ-19542-AB), or equivalent, meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A, DOT 3 before assembly.
- Install a new front disc brake caliper piston seal in the front disc brake caliper piston bore.
- Install a new dust seal on the front disc brake caliper piston.
- Install the front disc brake caliper piston in the front disc brake caliper piston bore.
- Use Driver Handle (T80T-4000-W) and Dust Seal Replacer (T92P-2588-AH) to seat the dust seal in the front disc brake caliper.
- Install the front disc brake caliper rubber insulators.
- Install the front disc brake caliper. Bleed as necessary. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
NOTE:
Ensure the seal is not twisted and is firmly seated in the caliper bore.
