Manual Bleeding

  1. Clean any dirt from brake fluid reservoir cap. Fill reservoir to MAX with High Performance DOT 3 Brake Fluid (C6AZ-19542-AB) or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A.
  2. Attach a rubber drain hose to the right rear bleeder screw and submerge the free end of the hose in a container partially filled with clean brake fluid. See Fig 1 .
  3. Have an assistant pump the brake pedal 10 times and then hold firm pressure on the brake pedal.
  4. Loosen the right rear bleeder screw until clear, bubble-free brake fluid flows. Have an assistant maintain pressure on the brake pedal while tightening the bleeder screw.
  5. Continue bleeding the rest of the system, going in order from the left rear wheel, to the right front wheel, ending with the left front wheel. See BRAKELINE BLEEDING SEQUENCE  . After bleeding process, if pedal feels spongy, repeat bleeding procedure.
  6. Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir and install the reservoir cap.
