Pinpoint Test Ai: A Single Power Window Is Inoperative - Driver

NOTE: The ignition switch must be cycled from OFF to RUN to enable the SSP feature.
  1. AI1 CHECK CIRCUIT 400 (LB/BK) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: LH Window Control Switch C508a.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between the LH window control switch C508a-4, circuit 400 (LB/BK) harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

    Yes 

    GO to AI2

    No 

    GO to  AI5.

  2. AI2 CHECK THE LH WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH GROUND 
    • Measure the resistance between the LH window control switch C508a-1, circuit 1205 (BK), harness side and ground; and between the LH window control switch C508a-5, circuit 1205 (BK), harness side and ground.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms on both circuits? 

    Yes 

    GO to AI3.

    No 

    REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

  3. AI3 CHECK THE LH WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Remove the LH window control switch.
    • Carry out the LH window control switch component test.

      Refer to COMPONENT TESTING for schematic and connector information.

    • Did the LH window control switch pass the component test? 

    Yes 

    GO to AI4

    No 

    INSTALL a new LH window control switch. TEST the system for normal operation.

  4. AI4 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT THE DRIVER WINDOW MOTOR 
    • Connect: LH Window Control Switch C508a.
    • Disconnect: Driver Window Motor C518.
    • Press the LH window control switch to the UP position while measuring the voltage at the LH window motor C518-1, circuit 333 (YE/RD) harness side and ground.
    • Press the LH window control switch to the DOWN position while measuring the voltage at the driver window motor C518-2, circuit 334 (RD/YE) harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts on both circuits? 

    Yes 

    INSTALL a new driver window motor. Refer to DOOR WINDOW GLASS - FRONT . CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.

    No 

    REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

  5. AI5 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY 2 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay 2 C2282.
    • Carry out the accessory delay relay 2 component test.

      Refer to COMPONENT TESTING for schematic and connector information.

    • Did the accessory delay relay 2 pass the component test? 

    Yes 

    GO to AI6.

    No 

    INSTALL a new accessory delay relay 2. TEST the system for normal operation.

  6. AI6 CHECK VOLTAGE SOURCE TO THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY 2 
    • Measure the voltage between the accessory delay relay 2 C2282-85, circuit 964 (DB/LG) and ground; and between the accessory delay relay 2 C2282-30, circuit 964 (DB/LG) and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts on both circuits? 

    Yes 

    GO to AI7

    No 

    GO to  AI8.

  7. AI7 CHECK CIRCUIT 400 (LB/BK) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280g.
    • Measure the resistance between the LH window control switch C508a-4, circuit 400 (LB/BK) harness side and the SJB C2280g-5, circuit 400 (LB/BK), harness side.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 

    Yes 

    GO to  AI9

    No 

    REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

  8. AI8 CHECK CIRCUIT 964 (DB/LG) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280h.
    • Measure the voltage between the SJB C2280h-28, circuit 964 (DB/LG), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 

    Yes 

    GO to AI9

    No 

    REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

  9. AI9 CHECK FOR CORRECT MODULE OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all SJB connectors
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they are seated correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 

    Yes 

    INSTALL a new SJB.

    Refer to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .

    CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self-test.

    No 

    The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
