Position Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Mercury Monterey and 2004 Ford Freestar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The PSD supplies a five-volt reference voltage to the position sensor on a valid open command or anytime the PSD is in the open position up to 6 hours. The PSD constantly supplies the ground. The position sensor has two data lines that the PSD reads and tracks to determine the PSD movement and position. The PSD position is tracked so the power sliding door may be powered in the correct direction when a valid operation command is received. The velocity is tracked to identify obstructions and reverse the power sliding door operation if required.
