Removal (Except 2.3L)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Discharge A/C system, using approved refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Remove air cleaner assembly. Disconnect condenser to evaporator line from condenser. See Fig 1. Discard "O" rings.
  2. Disconnect compressor to condenser discharge line from condenser. See Fig 2. Discard "O" rings. Plug open fittings. Remove radiator upper screws and tilt radiator back. See Figure. Removal upper radiator seal. See Figure. Remove condenser screws and condenser. See Figure.
