Removal (2.3L Engine)

Disconnect negative battery cable. If flushing of refrigerant system has not been performed, discharge A/C system, using approved recovery/recycling equipment. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Remove compressor drive belt. Disconnect A/C clutch coil connector. See Fig 1. Remove manifold and tube assembly bolt. See Fig 2. Disconnect and position aside manifold and tube assembly. Remove 4 mounting bolts and remove compressor. See Fig 3. Discard "O" rings. Plug manifold openings.
