Removal (2.5L)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Discharge A/C system, using approved refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Remove compressor. See COMPRESSOR . Discard "O" rings. Plug manifold openings. Remove air cleaner outlet tube. See Figure. Remove screw from clamp on compressor manifold and tube assembly. See Fig 1.
  2. Disconnect compressor manifold and tube assembly spring lock coupling from accumulator-drier. See Fig 2. Discard "O" rings. Disconnect pressure cutoff switch connector. See Fig 3.
  3. Disconnect compressor manifold and tube assembly from condenser discharge line and remove compressor manifold and tube assembly. See Figure. Discard "O" ring seal.
