Ignition Coil, Spark Plug Wires And Spark Plug: Notes

MATERIAL SPECIFICATION

Item Specification 
Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound D7AZ-19A331-A (Motorcraft XG-3) or equivalent ESE-M1C171-A
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to IDENTIFICATION CODES .
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY & CHARGING SYSTEM .
  3. If removing the ignition coil or spark plug wires, remove the wiper motor and pivot assembly. For additional information, refer to BODY SYSTEM - EXTERIOR
  4. Remove the parts in the order listed in Fig 2 and table.
    PART REMOVAL SEQUENCE

    Part Steps 
    Spark plug wires 2, 5, 6
    Spark plug(s) 6, 7
    Ignition coil 1-4

  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
