Item 4: Subframe Bolt Removal Note

  1. Using a suitable jack stand, support the subframe.
  2. Remove the steering shaft pinch bolt and disconnect the steering shaft from the steering gear.

  3. Remove and discard the exhaust flex pipe-to-catalytic converter bolts, then disconnect the flex pipe from the catalytic converter.

  4. Remove and discard the subframe bolts.
  5. Lower the rear of the subframe 5 to 8 cm (2 to 3 in) to allow the stabilizer bar to be removed from the vehicle.
