Motor - Windshield Wiper: Removal

CAUTION: The internal permanent magnets used in the windshield wiper motor (17504) are made of a glass-like material. To avoid damaging the magnets, do not strike the motor with a hammer or any other object.

NOTE: The windshield wiper motor is not a repairable item. If worn or damaged, the motor must be replaced.

Cycle the windshield wiper blades (17528) until they are in the straight-up position.

Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301).

Disconnect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector.

Remove the RH access cover.
1. Remove the screws.
2. Remove the access cover.

Reach through the RH access cover opening and unsnap the wiper motor clip from the RH mounting arm and pivot shaft.

Disconnect the (A) RH windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft (17566) from the (B) LH windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft (17567) and move both away from the (C) windshield wiper motor.

Remove the windshield wiper motor.
- Remove the stud bolt.
- Remove the bolts.
