Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the front door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the watershield.
  3. Remove the bolt and the door glass run rear channel.

  4. Disconnect the front door latch control cylinder rod from the door lock cylinder lever.

  5. Remove the exterior door handle actuating rod.
    1. Unclip the exterior door handle actuating rod.
    2. Remove the exterior door handle actuating rod.

  6. Remove the front door latch screws.

  7. Disconnect the interior lamp switch and the door ajar switch electrical connectors.
    • If equipped, disconnect the power door lock actuator electrical connector.
  8. Position the door latch assembly aside.
  9. Remove the front door latch cable watershield.

  10. Remove the front door latch cable.
    1. Remove the cable conduit from the door latch.
    2. Disconnect cable from the door latch.

  11. Remove the door latch push button rod.

  12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
