Keyless Entry

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Ford Ranger. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The remote transmitter sends a frequency signal that is received by the SJB. If the unlock frequency signal is received, the SJB will unlock the driver door. If the unlock frequency signal is received again within 3 seconds of the first unlock, the SJB will unlock all doors. If the lock frequency signal is received, the SJB will lock all doors.

If the frequency signal received is from the panic button, the SJB will cycle ground to the parking lamps and horn. The parking lamps and horn will continue to cycle until the panic button is pressed again, the key is turned to the RUN position or 2 minute and 45 seconds have elapsed.
