Pinpoint Test F: The Delayed Accessory Relay Does Not Turn Off

  1. F1 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY 
    • Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.
    • Carry out the ISO relay component test on the accessory delay relay.

      Refer to the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for schematic and connector information.

    • Did the relay pass the component test? 
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new accessory delay relay. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self -test. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. No  : GO to F2.
  2. F2 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: C2280c.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between accessory delay relay C2050 pin 87, circuit 400 (LB/BK) and ground.

    • Is voltage present? 
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self-test.
    2. No  : GO to F3.
  3. F3 CHECK ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY CIRCUIT 400 (LB/BK) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Measure the voltage between SJB C2280c-16, circuit 400 (LB/BK) and ground; and between SJB C2280c-20, circuit 400 (LB/BK).
    • Is voltage present? 
    1. Yes  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. No  : GO to F4.
  4. F4 CHECK FOR CORRECT MODULE OPERATION 
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280c.
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280D.
    • Check for:
      • Corrosion.
      • Damage or pushed-out pins.
    • Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they are seated correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify if the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self-test.
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
