Pinpoint Test D: The One Touch Down Feature Is Inoperative

- D1 RETRIEVE THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Carry out the SJB On-Demand Self Test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes
: If DTC B1398, GO to D3.
If DTC B1400, GO to D3.
If DTC B1342, INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : GO to D2.
- D2 CHECK THE ONE TOUCH DOWN RELAY
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: One Touch Down Relay.
- Carry out the one touch down relay component test.
Refer to the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for schematic and connector information.
- Did the one touch down relay pass the component test?
- Yes : GO to D3.
- No : INSTALL a new one touch down relay. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
- D3 CHECK THE ONE TOUCH DOWN RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between one touch down relay connector C2051 pin 2, harness side and ground.
- Is voltage present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self -test.
- No : GO to D4.
- D4 CHECK SJB CIRCUIT 400 (LB/BK) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay C2058.
- Measure the resistance between one touch down relay connector C2051 pin 1, circuit 400 (LB/BK), harness side and accessory delay relay C2058 pin 87, circuit 400 (LB/BK) harness side. Measure the resistance between one touch down relay connector C2051 pin 5, circuit 400 (LB/BK), harness side and accessory delay relay C2058 pin 87, circuit 400 (LB/BK) harness side.
- Are both resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : GO to D5.
- No : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self-test.
- D5 CHECK FOR CORRECT MODULE OPERATION
- Disconnect: SJB C2280C.
- Disconnect: SJB C2280D.
- Check for:
- Corrosion.
- Damage or pushed-out pins.
- Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they are seated correctly.
- Operate the system and verify if the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the SJB self-test.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self -test.
