Pinpoint Test J: One Turn Signal/Hazard Lamp Is Inoperative

  1. J1 CHECK THE STOPLAMPS 
    • Press and release the brake pedal while observing the rear lamps.
    • Do the stoplamps operate correctly? 
    1. Yes  : GO to J2.
    2. No  : REFER to STOPLAMPS .
  2. J2 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Place the headlamp switch to the parking lamps ON position and observe the inoperative turn lamp.
    • Does the parking lamp illuminate? 
    1. Yes  : GO to J3.
    2. No  : REPAIR circuit 57 (BK). TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. J3 CHECK THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH 
    • Carry out the multifunction switch component test. Refer to the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for schematic and connector information.
    • Is the multifunction switch OK? 
    1. Yes 

      For LH front parking/turn lamp, REPAIR circuit 3 (LG/WH). TEST the system for normal operation.

      For RH front parking/turn lamp, REPAIR circuit 2 (WH/LB). TEST the system for normal operation.

    2. No  : INSTALL a new multifunction switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES . TEST the system for normal operation.
