- Yes : GO to A2.
- No : GO to A6.
- A2 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE HEADLAMP SWITCH
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Headlamp Switch C205.
- Measure the voltage between the headlamp switch C205 pin 6, circuit 1033 (RD/YE), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- Yes : GO to A4.
- No : GO to A3
- A3 CHECK THE VOLTAGE FROM THE SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB)
- Disconnect: SJB C2280b.
- Measure the voltage between the SJB C2280b pin 4, circuit 1033 (RD/YE), component side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- Yes : REPAIR the circuit and TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : GO to A7.
- A4 CHECK CIRCUIT 164 (VT/LB) FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: Multifunction Switch C202b.
- Measure the resistance between the headlamp switch C205 pin 2, circuit 164 (VT/LB), harness side and the multifunction switch C202b pin 8, circuit 164 (VT/LB), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : RECONNECT the headlamp switch. GO to A5.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- A5 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH
- Place the headlamp switch in the headlamps ON position.
- Measure the voltage between the multifunction switch C202b pin 8, circuit 164 (VT/LB), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- Yes : INSTALL a new multifunction switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : INSTALL a new headlamp switch. REFER to LAMP SWITCH - HEADLAMP . TEST the system for normal operation.
- A6 CHECK THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH

Refer to the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for schematic and connector information.
- Is the multifunction switch OK?
- Yes : TURN the headlamp switch in the off. GO to A7.
- No : INSTALL a new multifunction switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES . TEST the system for normal operation.
- Carry out the multifunction switch component test for the headlamps.
- A7 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect all SJB connectors.
- Check for:
- Corrosion
- Pushed-out pins
- Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
