Principles of Operation: Tachometer

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Ford Ranger. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The tachometer indicates engine speed in revolutions per minute (RPM) in a range from 0 to 7,000 RPM. The tachometer receives a signal sent from the PCM.
