Extension Housing Gasket - 4x4: Removal

  1. Remove the transfer case. For additional information, refer to TRANSFER CASE - AUTOMATIC SHIFT .
  2. Remove the wire harness locators from the extension housing wire bracket.
  3. Remove the transmission mount nuts.

  4. Raise and support the transmission.

  5. Remove the six extension housing screws and studs.

  6. NOTE: The parking pawl, parking pawl return spring and parking pawl shaft may fall out during removal of the extension housing.

  7. Remove the extension housing. Discard the extension housing gasket.
