Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.

  3. Remove the two screws and the TP sensor.

  4. NOTE: Failure to install the throttle position sensor in this manner may result in excessive idle speeds. Slide the rotary tangs into position over the throttle shaft blade, then rotate the throttle position sensor.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
