Removal and Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Remove the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the sensor.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
The new CKP sensor must be touching the damper. The new sensor has wear tabs that will wear off after several engine revolutions.
