Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  3. Remove the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    2. Remove the bolts.
    3. Remove the sensor.

  4. NOTE: The new CKP sensor must be touching the damper. The new sensor has wear tabs that will wear off after several engine revolutions.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
