Removal and Installation

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to the COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING - 3.0L AND 4.0L .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  3. Disconnect the upper radiator hose.

  4. Remove the bolts, the thermostat outlet housing and the thermostat.
    • Inspect the O-ring seal. Install a new O-ring seal if necessary.

  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
