Removal and Installation

- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING - 3.0L AND 4.0L .
- Disconnect the radiator overflow hose or radiator vent hose.
- Remove the cooling fan and shroud. For additional information, refer to COOLING FAN SHROUD - 3.0L AND 4.0L .
- Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator.
- Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
- If equipped, disconnect the two transmission cooler lines.
- If equipped, disconnect the transmission cooler tubes at the bottom of the radiator.
- Remove the bolts and tilt the radiator back and lift directly upward.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
To avoid disturbing the transmission oil cooler fittings, use a backup wrench.
