Removal and Installation

- Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
- Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to SPECIFICATIONS & DRIVE BELT ROUTING .
- Using a strap wrench and standard 7/8-in wrench, remove the fan clutch assembly and position it into the shroud.
- Using the special tools, remove the fan clutch assembly and position it inside the shroud.
- Remove the bolts.
- Lift the fan shroud out of the lower retaining clips.
- Lift the fan shroud and the fan blade and clutch assembly together and remove from vehicle.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

3.0L VEHICLES
CAUTION:
The fan clutch has a left-hand thread and must be rotated clockwise for removal.
4.0L VEHICLES
CAUTION:
