Removal and Installation

  1. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING - 2.3L  or COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING - 3.0L AND 4.0L .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  3. Disconnect the connector.

  4. Remove the block heater.
      NOTE: Do not loosen the screw more than necessary for removal.
    1. Loosen the screw.
    2. Twist and slide the block heater to release the retainer clip and discard the retainer clip.
    3. Remove the block heater.

  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
