Timing Drive Components - Camshaft Drive Cassette, LH: Installation

  1. Install the chain guide through the cylinder head.

  2. Install the chain.

  3. Install new chain guide bolts.

  4. NOTE: The camshaft chain sprockets must be correctly oriented.

  5. Install the chain lower sprocket and the camshaft sprocket.
  6. Install, but do not tighten the camshaft sprocket bolt.

  7. Install the primary chain and gear.

  8. Install the primary drive chain tensioner.

  9. Hold the crankshaft from turning and tighten the jackshaft sprocket bolt in two stages.
    • Stage 1: Tighten bolt to 45 N.m (33 lb-ft).
    • Stage 2: Tighten bolt an additional 90 degrees.

  10. Install the engine front cover. For additional information, refer to ENGINE FRONT COVER .
  11. Time the engine. For additional information, refer to TIMING DRIVE COMPONENTS - CAMSHAFT TIMING .
