Roller Followers: Removal

  1. Remove the valve covers. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER LH  or VALVE COVER - RH .
  2. Remove the fuel supply manifold. For additional information, refer to FUEL CHARGING & CONTROLS - 4.0L SOHC .
    3. NOTE: Mark each camshaft roller follower to ensure its original position during reassembly.

  3. Using the special tool, remove the camshaft roller followers.
    4. NOTE: Lubricate the parts with clean engine oil prior to installing.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
